Decentraland To Launch A Racing Game In Its Metaverse: Decentrally.
Decentrally will serve as an open-source example of what the Infinity Engine code can do. Infinity Engine is the game engine behind Decentraland’s metaverse, which is one of the most popular metaverses in terms of popularity.
The game will be used as an in-depth example to share with the community and serve as a good foundation for other content creators to build upon. The game will have all the core building blocks of a racing game including race tracks, a lobby, leaderboards (through PlayFab), multiplayer (up to 8 players), drifting, boosts, obstacles, etc.
Furthermore, the track shape and theme could be easily changed as well as the addition of multiple varieties of cars. Although the game is fun and has a ton of potential, the team believes it still has a long way to go before it can attract players and had good retention over time.
Built on 3×3 parcels, DecentRally consists of 2 tracks and has all the basic features you’d want in a racing game, such as multiplayer, obstacles, boosters, and more. The game’s creators hope that the community will build on the foundation that DecentRally offers and create many new and exciting experiences for Decentraland.
