The Golden Age of the Metaverse-THE KENYAN METAVERSE SUMMIT 2022.
The Beginning of The Kenyan Metaverse Summit
The Kenyan Metaverse Summit is an event like no other that has ever been seen. Africa has been interested in finding new ways to do things since the beginning of the internet boom era, with Kenya being at the heart of the technological and innovative centre of the continent.
When COVID-19 hit, people’s interaction with digital platforms went through the roof, and we saw young Kenyans getting deeper into the online world seeking new opportunities and ways to entertain themselves during the lockdown. This has encouraged many Kenyans to learn more about the metaverse and the many ways it may be applied.
To understand this, let’s first start with Web 1, which is simple websites and Google Search. Web 2.0 was social and the sharing economy. In Web 2.0, we didn’t own our data; the big companies owned it and monetised it.
Now we are in Web 3.0, which is the ownership economy. In Web 3.0, we own our data and we can make money with our data, such as with play-to-earn games and the metaverse.
The Idea
The idea behind the Metaverse is that technology in the online world will copy and improve our real lives in the future. Augmented reality and virtual reality are getting better quickly, speeding up the hype train.
Metaverses are interesting because they give us a look into the future of new technologies that combine the real world with digital and virtual places. These technologies are likely to change the way people live, especially in how they connect the real world with digital and virtual places
75% of crypto enthusiasts aren’t even sure what it is, despite the fact that major financial institutions and countries like Dubai are investing billions of dollars in this mysterious world.
It should come as no surprise that there is a pressing requirement to inform the people of Africa about what the Metaverse is and why it makes sense to be a part of the internet’s future.
How did it come about?
The Kenyan Metaverse Summit is happening because MetametaClub was founded in Kenya by Metaverse Degens from the Kenyan NFT Club, and most of our community, Many creators and artists are based here in Kenya. Though this doesn’t mean that we’ll always focus on Kenya, as the name suggests, this is an African Community.
The Metameta Club is the first African Metaverse community, and our main vision is to tell and preserve real African stories and history through art and NFTs in the Metaverse. Due to the longevity of the blockchain, we’ll create a portal to the real African essence in the Metaverse where you learn your roots while on the other side.
We work with different Metaverse communities and platforms to show off African art. Right now, the African Museum of the Metaverse is our main partner because we both care about African art. In addition, it will be the responsibility of the club to educate all Africans about the metaverse and bring it to their attention.
The event is scheduled to begin LIVE broadcasting at IHUB in Nairobi, Kenya on October 28th, 2022. A lot of investors, Web 3 researchers, NFT music artists, founders, and key Metaverse opinion leaders from both the local and international communities came to the event.

The Kenyan Metaverse Summit main sponsors are Unstoppable Domains. The biggest market for web 3 NFT domains, with a once-in-a-lifetime purchase to make crypto transactions easier.
We’ll have 2000 free domains worth $40,000 to give away to both our physical and online attendees.
BlackRhino VR will make sure the VR kits are made available at the location. Participants will have the chance to have a first-person encounter with the Meterverse during the live event.
The event will be both in person and digitally. It will have amazing local and international speakers. Including panellists that come from all walks of life and represent a wide variety of topics.
This event is the beginning of a long journey into the Metaverse. We want to represent African cultures and heritage in the most interactive ways possible. We envision a time long after we’re dead. When our grandchildren’s children come to the metaverse to learn about their real cultures and stories.
This will end up being the only authentic and trusted source of such stories. As it’s being recorded and written by Africans themselves.
The event is sold out. Worry not, there are still spots available for online attendees in the metaverse and on our YouTube live stream. See you all.
